Distractions: Which Classic Novel Describes Your Life?

After watching about 37 minutes of last night’s news, my brain could no longer take the massive global overload of despair, doom, and destruction. I heard the serpent calling me to click over to Playbuzz. Blerg. Weakness. At first, I was surprised (what? A trivial internet multiple choice didn’t pin me down?!), but then I read the final few sentences, which I found to be strangely familiar. Which novel did you get?

lord of the rings

      1. Me, too. I only ever read The Hobbit as a child. But I must admit that the final lines about the surreal and fantastic, and life taking me to strange places is oddly spot on.

  1. I agree. I don’t watch TV news anymore. Haven’t had cable for three months. More of a radio and Internet news follower (credible sources only, for what that’s worth).

I got Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird. Loved the book and the movie. A classic for sure.

    Thanks for the distraction.

    1. I obsessively read the news online, but it is a rare moment that I watch the local news. With that said, however, my abundance of reading news still has put me in an exhausted mood lately. I try to not read, but I just can’t help it. Fear of being a dunce who doesn’t know what’s happening in the world is always pressing on me. I was happy to take a silly quiz to decompress! Glad you had fun with it, too.

  2. A bit late to the party, but I got F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.” I’m off for some love tragedies 😛 This test is a good one, as I love this book. Thanks for distraction!
