Dear Readers, I write to you asking for your opinion. The past two years (and the age of this blog), I’ve had an unofficial December big read. Although 2011’s was more official than last year’s, I would like to make this year’s a little more official. In 2011, my choice was The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins (you can read my review). It was a book I had wanted to read for ages and I thought winter break (I was a grad student at the time), would be a perfect opportunity. It was a really wonderful book and I was glad that I had finally made the time for it. Last year’s was a little less successful, which you can read about here. Because of last year’s disappointment, I thought I’d return to the classics. I’m already leaning towards one of these fine choices; though, I will not be revealing which one. I do hope you will take part in the little poll that I’ve setup and please feel free to include comments about any or all of these three choices†. The poll will stay open for about a week. I’m taking this week to finish up on my still unread galleys that need to be reviewed and then I will be completely invested in my Winter Big Read.
For those readers who are newer around these parts, the idea is to read a big classic book filled with mystery, intrigue, and a bit of adventure. I know that the Poe selection is not particularly large, but if chosen, I’ll throw in some stories for good measure.
